HEY THERE, I'M

As a local veterinarian and passionate dock diving enthusiast, I’m dedicated to bringing the sport of dock diving to the Helena community and beyond. Combining my professional background with my love for canine athletics, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the connection between dogs and their people can be when given the opportunity to learn, play, and grow together.

My journey with dock diving began in 2017 with my German Shepherd, Zoe. What started as a new activity quickly became something much more meaningful—an experience we shared that strengthened our bond and gave us a true sense of teamwork. While Zoe is no longer with us, the impact she had on my life and my passion for this sport continues to shape everything I do.

That journey has carried on with our other competitive dog, Butch. Together, Zoe and Butch have earned nine titles, received ten invitations to nationals, and achieved a National Championship title in 2023. These accomplishments are something I’m incredibly proud of, but what matters most is the journey behind them—the training, the trust, and the moments along the way.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed how dock diving transforms dogs—not just physically, but emotionally. It builds confidence, encourages engagement, and deepens the relationship between dog and handler. To me, it’s more than just a sport—it’s a way to create lasting memories, celebrate each dog’s unique abilities, and give them the opportunity to truly thrive.

HEY THERE, I'M

At the center of my journey into dog sports is my first Aussie, Sophie—my go anywhere, do anything kind of partner. She’s the kind of dog who is always ready for the next adventure, and because of her, I’ve found myself diving into the world of dog sports in a way I never expected.

Each new sport brings new challenges, new skills, and new opportunities for us to grow—not just individually, but as a team. Through it all, Sophie shows up with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to try anything, reminding me that the experience is just as important as the outcome.

While she has a strong focus in agility, she has a natural ability to succeed in whatever she puts her mind to. But dock diving holds a special place in my heart—because at her core, Sophie is a little feral in the best way. The dock gives her the freedom to let loose, chase the toy, and just have fun being exactly who she is.

That’s what I love most about working with dogs—finding what lights them up and giving them the space to shine.

HEY THERE, WE'RE THE

Every great dog dock needs a solid foundation — and in our case, that comes from the two guys behind the build, the muscle behind the scenes, and the men who helped turn this dream into reality.

From early planning days to the heavy lifting, problem-solving, and “how are we actually going to build this?” moments, Jon and Grady have been there every step of the way making it all happen. If it needed to be built, hauled, fixed, or figured out—they were on it.

But their role doesn’t stop there. Come event days and trials, you’ll find them right where everyone wants them — behind the grill. Whether it’s breakfast burritos to start the morning or burgers to keep everyone going, they’re serving up the fuel that keeps both handlers and spectators happy.

They may not always be the ones on the dock, but they’re a huge part of what makes The Dog Dock run—and they bring just as much heart, humor, and dedication to the team.

HEY THERE, I'M

With a masters degree in education, I bring a thoughtful, experienced approach to training, with a strong foundation in building clear communication and confident partnerships between dogs and their handlers.

Years of experience across multiple dog sports have shaped my training style that emphasizes clarity, consistency, and adaptability. Every dog learns differently, and I pride myself in meeting each team where they are, helping them progress in a way that feels supportive, effective, and rewarding.

Dock diving became a natural extension of that journey thanks to Rogue—my “lap-sized” dog with a big personality and even bigger talent, earning invitations to both regionals and nationals. That experience has sparked a deeper love for the sport and a commitment to helping other teams discover what their dogs are capable of.

Whether working with beginners or more experienced teams, my focus is always on building confidence, strengthening the dog-handler relationship, and making sure the process stays fun. Watching dogs gain confidence, find their drive, and truly enjoy the work is at the heart of everything I do.
